A passage through flood

I used to pass through big and small villages of District Badaun and Shahjahanpur while my visits to shahjahanpur always thinking that perhaps nothing has changed here in last sixty something years since independence except for some motorbike below buttocks and cellphones in hands. Pathatic roads, mud-clad nude children, dung all over the road, men and women with disgustingly scratchy faces and untidy hair, females squatting roadside to attend nature calls, sordid living conditions all constitute an unsightly vista depicting a heavenly plot for an English movie maker aspiring to make an Oscar winning film.
This time also i pass through having synonymous feelings but on my return the scene and my thoughts both had changed. The panorama was water horrendously all over. In fact during my onward journey also i had to take an alternate route as the flood water started flowing over the road at some places but i could not imagine that the situation would worsen to such extent in a matter of just hours. While i was filled with my selfish and timid thoughts of escaping the area any how as soon as i could, i had seen people sitting on charpayees at their gates with water all inside their homes, young boys in water up to their chins carrying bales of their household good over their head to get these at road side which is not merged yet, men carrying oldies on their shoulders, families migrated to roadside with grains bags and cattle. There are countless conspicuous losses forget about insidious long lasting future ramifications. I was boggled at the irony that when people in metros are cherishing the joy of air conditioning, cars, malls, multiplexes etc. their fellow countrymen in villages are struggling to save their already deprived lives.
After this prolix i will share an interesting awkward thing i had seen. when this water was crossing road and entering into villages some of the residents were using this opportunity to wash their motorcycles and bicycles on the road like this is all the water they ever had. I am not sure whether this is funny or not but this indicate the vision of the people here and perhaps the reason for underdevelopment.

what irritates me most .......................(continued)

Displaying department name on personal vehicles by govt. employee:- Police,Nyaya vibhag, siksha vibhag, press etc. etc etc....why the hell should anybody be interesting in knowing whom theses red 100cc motorcycles(usually)belong to.

Karwa chouth:- On this immensely over rated day of the year indian women(married only i guess)suddenly shower all their devotion and sacrifice on their round bellied husbands. Totally unconcerned about the fact that whether these poor husband can afford so much of it in a single day

Lower Berth Beggars:- I need to travel a lot to meet my financial demands n get lower berth reserved very very rarely. On these rare fortunate occasions i invariably find some body asking for an exchange of berth with such a deplorable reason that if i deny i will be proved totally insane or inhuman in front of the rest. Finally I started opting upper birth while booking.

People Who:-
travel in 3 TIRE coach instead of 3 tier coach,
smoke ciragatte instead of cigarette,
go to Nakhlow instead of Lucknow,
lead a simpil life instead of simple life,
ask for dalda instead of vanaspai,
advocate that consuming desi ghee/badam/ashwagandha/shilajit/ safedmusli will make them screw 10 times a day every day
love daily soaps and discuss about it
call you and ask who is on the line at first.
like bread pakoras.

What irritates me most (Still I love my india)

1. India TV- I hate all hindi news channels except Doordarshan but India TV topped the list. They serve everything except some serious news.

2. Traffic sense- We Indians are terrific at this.

3. Obsession for films and politics- why these two are so important for us that we never fed up talking about this.

4. TV serials and south indian movies- How the producers can expect viewers to be so dumb.

5.Power cuts- Still our government don't consider it a basic necessity. Power cuts are intolerable.

6.Nou·veau riche-I wish they will invest soe of their time and intellect in learning some decency.

7.Governmment Employees (Especially Babus):- Need not say anything i can only pray that i would never have to deal with them.

8.No Concern for environment-When will we realize that this planet is our real home not the concrete building we live in.

9.LPG Cylinders- These ugly red containers are used so casually without any concern for safety and are used for the purposes they are not intended for.

10. Bullack carts on highways:- They never face accident but cause one.
